Requirements
Students must have a previously issued SST Worker Card that is expired or no longer valid for renewal under the standard 8-hour SST refresher option.
A government-issued photo ID is required for student verification.
Students must provide a copy of their expired SST card and/or prior training documentation where applicable.
Students must have access to a computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone with a stable internet connection.
Device must include a working camera and microphone for identity verification and/or course proctoring requirements where applicable.
Students must complete all required course hours, participation activities, assessments, and course evaluations to receive completion certificates.
Description
The 14-Hour SST Renewal Package is an online training package designed for students whose SST Worker Card has expired and who need to complete updated SST training to become eligible for a new SST Worker Card.
This package includes:
- 8-Hour Fall Prevention Course
- 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User & Refresher Course
Choice of:
- 2-Hour Drug & Alcohol Awareness Course
- OR
- 2-Hour Mental Health Awareness Course
SST Card is included upon the successful completion of this course and verification of required supporting SST/OSHA documentation in accordance with NYC DOB SST requirements.
This package is intended for students who already had an SST Worker Card but allowed it to expire. The included refresher training may also help satisfy the refresher requirement for an OSHA 30 Construction card that is older than 5 years, instead of retaking OSHA 30, where permitted under NYC DOB SST rules.
Students will review fall prevention, scaffold safety, mental health awareness, and key NYC construction safety responsibilities needed to return to compliance for applicable New York City job sites.
Important Notes:
- Beginning August 2026, the 2-Hour Drug & Alcohol Awareness Course will no longer be available for SST purposes under NYC DOB requirements.
- Until August 2026, students may choose either the 2-Hour Drug & Alcohol Awareness Course or the 2-Hour Mental Health Awareness Course to satisfy the SST requirement.
- This package is for expired SST Worker Cards and is not the same as the standard 8-Hour SST renewal for cards that are still valid.
- Students should provide their expired SST card and prior OSHA/SST training records for verification.
- All online training must be completed by the registered student only.
- Identity verification and online participation monitoring may be required during the course.
